This is our full metal frame kit for the RailCore 300ZL printer, consisting of 9 individual metal pieces. All pieces are milled from 6061 aluminum precision plate to replace all the structural HDPE panels of the printer.  The kit includes 4 side plates, a baseplate**, and 4 plates for the electronics box.  Each panel size has been adjusted to ensure a proper fit and to accommodate all accessories (i.e. stepper mounts, idler mounts, halos, etc). 

**The baseplate is included in this kit unless you specify otherwise..  If you have already purchased the baseplate separately, please choose the "No Baseplate" option above.  Choosing the "No Baseplate" option will reduce the cost of the kit by $75.

All the metal pieces in this kit come with your choice of 2 surface finishes.  Choose from either our unique stripe finish or a raw metal unfinished surface. 

• Striped

The attractive stripe brushed/polished finish produces a uniquely dimensional look. This allows the shiny edges of the accent chamfers to really pop on the plates.  This finish is present on both the inner and outer faces of the panel. 

• Raw

To help keep costs low, choose the raw unfinished option.  The piece will be the raw, from the factory finish, so there likely will be scratches and marks that potentially are quite noticeable and some may be able to be felt.  There also may potentially be the ghost of a logo present.  This raw finish allows you to choose any surfacing that you may wish to apply yourself.  The raw finish should not be expected to be "presentation ready" and this panel is not returnable based on these expected surface imperfections.

For an additional charge you may choose to have your kit powder coated. You may choose from satin white or satin black powder coating options.  The satin finish is a nice blend of a mild shine and matte surface that provides a high resistance to fingerprinting and scratching.  Please add the Railcore II - powder coating item to your cart at the time of kit purchase.

This kit will not only add to the overall rigidity of your RailCore 300ZL but will also reduce vibrations due to the increase in mass, all while still allowing for increased side panel adjustability.

We have upgraded each metal side panel with recessed mounting holes and slotted through holes that also allow slight adjustments of the panels to insure a perfect fit every time. We have upgraded the baseplate with recessed panel mounting holes with slotted through holes that also allow slight adjustments to insure a perfect fit every time. The baseplate also has slotted stepper mounting holes that allow greater adjustment of the Z axis steppers mounting in the X direction and better alignment of each stepper on the Z axis.  The front plate has tapped holes for mounting the doors of your choice. The left side electronics box panel features an additional M3 tapped hole, near the power inlet, specifically for grounding.

• These panels are designed for the items included in the Filastruder kit. If you self-sourced your Railcore, please contact us as some aspects of the kit may need adjustment to fit your power switch, power source and the like. We are not responsible for parts outside of the Filastruder kit not fitting if you fail to contact us for adjustments.

• Due to the size and weight of this kit, it will ship separately from any other items purchased.

This item ships in a custom sized, flat wooden crate, therefore it will be shipped separate from any other items purchased.

Considering that the 3D printed feet were not designed to support the extra weight that this full metal kit will add to your printer, as an added measure of safety we also offer full metal feet, sold separately here
